Extension of the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade. As a cultural institution of national importance, the existing museum primarily collects, research, protect, and present scientific and technical cultural assets. The museum’s goal is to raise the scientific and technological culture, popularize science and modern scientific achievements. The question arises whether and to what extent the existing museum’s spatial framework is sufficient to respond to the ambitious demands that the institution itself sets, whether the architecture can be flexible and adaptable enough to react to movements within other disciplines. The project identifies the environment’s peculiarities with all its problems, specifics, and potentials. It creates new values and respects the existing ones, improves the context, its physiognomy and semantics, program, and spatial solutions.
